of the letter from the Inspector of Schools, which was

-closed in Mr. May's Despatch No. 165 of the 18th. April,
1904, I have the honour to forward particulars, in duplicate,
of the vacant post of Assistant Master at the Yaumati
Anglo-Chinese School, and to supplement them by asking that
the candidate selected should be unmarried, and if possible
not more than 25 years of age. He should be a trained and
certificated Master with a correct English accent and wil-
-ling to teach games to his Chinese pupils. A special
knowledge of any of the following subjects, viz.:- Mathema-
-tics, Book-keeping, History, Geography, Drawing, Chemistry
or Latin, should be considered an additional qualification
and though a knowledge of Modern Foreign Languages is not
required, proof of linguistic ability would be of value.
